Carbon Activated Charcoal is one of the oldest natural remedies known. Ancient Egyptian papyri describe charcoal being used to purify, and Hippocrates wrote about it in ancient Greece. Today's activated charcoal is made from [wood / coconut shell] that is first heated to very high temperatures without air to form charcoal. It is then "activated" with steam, which opens up millions of tiny pores and gives it an enormous surface area. This porous structure lets activated charcoal adsorb, or bind, certain gases and particles in the digestive tract. Because the body doesn't absorb it, it passes through the gut and leaves naturally in the stool. Each capsule contains 500mg of pure activated charcoal and nothing else.

Usage

Take 1 capsule twice a day with a full glass of water.

Take it at least 2 hours apart from meals, medication and other supplements, including any other products in a bundle.

Drink plenty of water throughout the day while using it.

Activated charcoal can stop medication from working. It can bind medicines, including the contraceptive pill, chronic medication and other supplements, and reduce how much your body absorbs. Always leave at least 2 hours between them. If you take any chronic medication, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Do not use if you have a bowel blockage, severe constipation, slow gut movement, bleeding in the digestive tract, or have had recent abdominal surgery.

Activated charcoal turns stools black. This is normal and harmless. However, see a doctor if you notice black stools along with stomach pain, vomiting or dizziness, as charcoal can hide signs of internal bleeding.

It may cause constipation. Stop use and drink plenty of water if this happens.

Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic or serious health condition.
